Jean Sarrail 1919-2012








Jean Sarrail has flown more than 6 700 flight hours in flight test on more than 200 types of aircraft. He tested the majority of French prototype aircraft between 1948 and 1968. He was a fighter pilot dueing WW2 claiming 2 victories, and a probable third. After the war he entered the CEV in 1946,and graduated as a test pilot. He was one of three test pilots involved with the Leduc aircraft, flying supersonic speeds. He made the maiden flight of the Leduc 022.
